The Guide to Holiness

In 2019 I had the idea to create a newsletter which would highlight published testimonies of entire sanctification, a doctrine emphasized in the Wesleyan tradition from the earliest of days within the Methodist movement. Two years earlier, I completed a thesis at Asbury Theological Seminary titled "Reintroducing the Doctrine and Experience of Christian Perfection to United Methodists" so this topic was of particular interest for me [1]. Thanks to some reading I had been doing about Phoebe Palmer, I decided to name the newsletter The Guide to Holiness as an homage to a publication she and her husband bought and edited from 1864 until the 1870s when she died.

The Guide to Holiness started out as a Mailchimp newsletter but because of restrictions to the number of people I could send to with a free account, I've since migrated it to Substack which you can find here.

[1]: The terms "Christian perfection" and "entire sanctification" are synonymous.
